Check Serial Numbers by PhoneFind your serial number located on your Prada authenticity card. This number can be found on the back of the card. There should be at least two credit card-sized cards, maybe three depending on the type of material your merchandise was made of. If there is a third card, it would contain care instructions. How to Shop Safely When Purchasing Prada Sunglasses. The inside left temple of Prada sunglasses feature the model number - sunglasses start with an 'S' and eyeglasses start with a 'V';; and sets of numbers representing the lens width and the nose width. New Prada sunglasses feature a serial number etched into the right lens.

The high-end luxury accessories brand Prada began in Milan, Italy in 1913. Since that time, the company has been known for its handbags and accessories, which can be purchased at authorized retail stores worldwide. As with many high-end brands, replicas of Prada items are widely available for purchase. However, there are a few ways to determine an authentic Prada item, including Prada eyeglasses.

Ask the seller for the certificate of authenticity. This should have the Prada brand name and information about the materials used in the eyeglasses. Check to make sure the certificate states 'Made in Italy.' The paperwork included with the eyeglasses should also have a warranty issued from Prada. If the certificate of authenticity or the warranty is missing, the eyeglasses are likely not authentic.

Know your price point. Prada eyeglasses typically cost $250 and up without lenses. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is and the eyeglasses are probably replicas.

Ensure that the eyeglasses come with a Prada eyeglass case. The case should be high-quality and sturdy with a soft interior and an eyeglass cloth that also has the Prada logo. If the eyeglass case is cheap, flimsy or does not have the logo on both the case and the cloth, the item is probably not an authentic pair of Prada eyeglasses.

Look at the eyeglasses closely. The Prada logo should be located on the inside of one of the eyeglass stems and should be evenly spaced on the stem. The logo itself should be written clearly and without any blurred lines or letters. Authentic Prada eyeglasses will say 'Made in Italy' on the inside of one of the stems.

Inquire about the eyeglass model number. This information should be readily available for authentic Prada eyeglasses. If the seller cannot provide the model number, the glasses are probably replicas.

Prada Serial Number

Here I give you some tips with accompanying photos, to help you spot fakes, comparing real with fake Prada sneakers side by side.

Box size

The real Prada box is to the left, the fake box to the right. As you can see, the real box is significantly larger than the fake.

Box front

This photo shows the front of the box. The fake box is to the left, the real box to the right.

The 'R' in Prada should have an indentation below the curve of the R, just where it meets the leg and should curve inward. Also, note that the printing is heavier on the fake box.

Box side

The side of the box will have a copyright message. The left photo shows the fake box, the real box is to the right.

The fake box says 'Made in Italy' on a separate line. However, as we will see in the next photo, the shoes were made in Vietnam.

Inside tongue

This photo shows the inside of the tongue. Note the poor printing on the fake shoe to the left, and the poor quality of the stitching and leather. Also note the looser mesh on the fake.

Prada Serial Number Check

Rubber Stripe

Notice that the rubber stripe on the tongue of the fake shoe to the left is darker, the R is missing the indentation below the curve, and the font differs from the real shoe to the right.

Insole

The insole should have PRADA printed on the bottom of the heel. However, the fake has this aligned to the right instead of to the left as on the real shoe. Also notice that the fake is made from a shiny plastic instead of a matt rubber.

Insole

The other end of the insole should have a serial code printed, as can be seen in the photo of the authentic shoe to the right. The fake to the left, is missing this serial code.

Red stripe on insole

The red stripe on the top of the insole should be stitched in, not printed or glued. Note the poor quality of the printing on the fake to the left, and the darker color.

Sole

This photo shows the bottom of the sole. Notice the poor quality of the embossed 'PRADA' on the fake to the left, and the missing indentation below the curve of the 'R'.

Red stripe on sole

The red stripe on the sole should be printed cleanly and evenly, and should have a recessed border around each of the letters, as can be seen on the photo of the real shoe to the right. The fake shoe to the left is again missing the indentation on the letter 'R' in Prada.

Laces

The fake laces, on the right in the photo, are lighter in color and are also significantly thicker than the real lace on the left.
